The Last PH 85 Extrait de Parfum
"This perfume is my first formula as a perfumer. A unique fact is the use of an alcohol produced naturally from plums, from my garden, according to old and traditional recipes." - A note from the brand and perfumer, Flavius Calaj
What We Think"What does it truly mean to be pure of heart?"
That is the question we were asking ourselves before smelling The Last PH (Pure Heart) 85.
By all assumptions, we expected to be introduced to a happy-go-lucky, light, perhaps childish scent, encompassing innocence with a carefree attitude. Suffice to say, we were surprised and entranced at the resulting experience.
A blast of black currant & blood orange fruity sweetness meets balsamic, almost sour leather, much like childhood joys meeting the inevitable responsibilities of life. The fragrance then descends into a smoky & woody tobacco, cedar, sandalwood, and Peru balsam-filled haze, as imminent as the unavoidable deeper real-world issues one has to encounter. However, upon drydown, facets of amber and vanilla reveal themselves, warm and caring amongst the other darker features.
This scent has reminded us that although one may be surrounded by troubles and trials in life, what matters is seeing the warmth, kindness, and light in yourself and others. That is what it truly means to be pure of heart.
